Ashley

DEAR BIRTHMOTHER

Hi I am Ashley, and I am very excited to have the opportunity to introduce myself to you and possibly walk with you on this adoption journey.

I’ve always dreamed of being a mother and I’ve always surrounded myself with children. I’m a mom, an aunt and a godmother.

I always thought I would get married and have a baby. But life does not always work out as planned, as I am sure you know. While my road to motherhood has had some twists and turns, I’ve held onto my faith, trusting that you and I would find each other.

If you decide to choose me to parent your child, I promise to love protect and cherish him or her with all of my heart. I promise you that I will nurture your child’s spirit and help him or her find a special place in this world. I will make sure that your child never forgets the sacrifices you have made and the love that brought him or her into my life. I will be your child’s support for the rest of his or her life, and I will love your child unconditionally.

MY HOME

My southern values have stayed with me no matter where I have lived: integrity, kindness, honesty and manners. I grew up and currently reside in the South but I also lived abroad in Brazil and England.

I love animals and have been a rescue and foster mom to lots of pups and kittens. My home is a happier home because of my fur babies. They just make life better. I have three labs, Sophia, a chocolate Lab, Daisy, a yellow Lab and Maximus, a black Lab. I can’t forget Zulu the cat, who came to our home looking for a fur family in the pups. He was so little and just wanted to be by the puppies. Zulu thinks he is a pup, he knows no different. The pups are so gentle and sweet with babies and children of all ages. They are a favorite of everyone, with their gentle sweet nature.

MY EXTENDED FAMILY

The holiday season is a magical time of year in my family. Thanksgiving is filled with tradition of hosting dinner which means cooking for loads of family, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, siblings and friends. A big part of New Orleans family life is celebrations and family bonds. We celebrate anything and everything as long as we are all together. I have the best childhood memories of my family life with my cousins and siblings, from our beach trips, to our camping trips, to our everyday life! Our family centered around being together and having fun, no matter what it entailed. I have six God Children that I love and adore. They are the light of my life, watching them grow up and seeing life through their eyes. We travel together and have many adventures, making lifetime memories. My parents instilled in me the love of travel and exploring new places. My grandparents have made a special mark on my heart, teaching me all of the wisdom they have acquired through life.

WHAT LED ME TO ADOPTION

Everyone who knows me knows I love children. All I wanted in life was to have a family and be a mother. I knew something was missing from my life as I was not fulfilled, and it did not take much soul searching to know that it was a family. Once my heart was set on having children, I just knew it was the only choice for me. I have so much love to give and I want to experience the ultimate miracle of nurturing and supporting a child’s life. I believe wholeheartedly that we are all God’s creation and our differences are to be embraced. I live in a community that celebrates and accepts diversity. The child I adopt, regardless of race or gender, will be raised in a supportive environment. Cultural diversity is enriching for everyone, particularly children. I promise to do everything possible to lead and support your child in all of his or her desires, including exposure to the people and opportunities that will enrich your child’s life and aide in their growth and experiences.
